The trailer for Netflix’s upcoming series Operation Safed Sagar has been released. The series revisits the Kargil War by focusing on a chapter that has received limited attention on screen. Inspired by the Indian Air Force’s historic Operation Safed Sagar, it highlights the courage, strategy and sacrifices behind one of the conflict’s most challenging air operations.
Directed by Oni Sen and created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava, the series follows the Golden Arrows Squadron and its young pilots as they undertake dangerous high-altitude missions. The trailer showcases fighter aircraft, aerial combat, military drills and battlefield sequences, giving the series a strong cinematic appeal.
Siddharth and Jimmy Shergill play experienced officers who guide a new generation of Indian Air Force pilots portrayed by Mihir Ahuja, Abhay Verma and Taaruk Raina. The trailer also hints at the emotional pressure, personal struggles and split-second decisions faced by those serving during the conflict.
The supporting cast includes Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli, Adil Hussain, Arnav Bhasin and Amrita Bagchi, adding further depth to the story. Beyond its large-scale action, the series appears to focus on the human side of war and the personal sacrifices made by military personnel.
Indian audiences have embraced several military dramas in recent years, including Shershaah, URI: The Surgical Strike, Sam Bahadur and Fighter. Operation Safed Sagar stands out by bringing the Indian Air Force’s role in the Kargil War to the forefront.
If the series successfully combines high-quality action with emotional storytelling, it has the potential to become another notable military drama on OTT. With its Netflix premiere scheduled for August, all eyes will be on whether Operation Safed Sagar emerges as one of the platform’s biggest successes.
