Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, best known for directing the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg, has sparked a new controversy after making sharp remarks about actor-producer Aamir Khan.
In a recent interview, Abhinav called Aamir Khan a “chalaak lomdi” (cunning fox) and accused him of manipulating industry insiders through parties, alcohol, and calculated filmmaking tactics.
This isn’t the first time Abhinav has targeted a major star. He had earlier accused Salman Khan of unprofessional behaviour and foul language during the Dabangg shoot, which eventually led to their fallout.
His latest comments against Aamir have reignited discussions about power struggles and manipulation within Bollywood. Abhinav alleged that Aamir often demands multiple retakes sometimes up to 25 — to mentally exhaust actors and maintain control over the set.
He further hinted that Aamir declined to collaborate on a biopic about wrestler Mahavir Phogat, claiming the actor had financial and strategic reasons behind the decision.
However, the timing of these remarks has raised eyebrows. Abhinav has been away from mainstream cinema for nearly a decade, with several stalled projects, leading many to believe his comments are an attempt to regain relevance.
Some social media users, though, supported his claims, citing Aamir’s well-known perfectionist approach to filmmaking. Others recalled Abhinav’s earlier accusations against Salman Khan, alleging career sabotage after their fallout.
His fresh attack on Aamir adds a new layer to his long history of clashes with Bollywood’s biggest stars. For many, this controversy again exposes the film industry’s deep-rooted battles over ego, power, and control.
