The Passport initiative of PVR Cinemas, officially named PVR Passport, was once seen as a great deal for people who like to visit cinema halls frequently. At a nominal monthly subscription fee of ₹ 349, and a quarterly subscription fee of ₹ 1047, it seems like a steal deal for cinema lovers! But as it’s often said, if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Many subscribers of the PVR Passport are going so far as to label it a scam. People have come forward to complain about several issues regarding the service. Some people claim that they cannot book tickets for movies released on the weekends, or for blockbusters during the week they are released, leading many to speculate that this service is nothing more than PVR’s way of pushing less popular films.

The problem doesn’t end here. People are claiming that their Passports expire before the expiration date arrives! This has led to many losing access to their subscriptions much before they were actually set to expire.
On top of that, you can’t watch a movie more than once using your Passport, leaving people frustrated. Furthermore, subscribers complain that they have to watch the movies which they normally wouldn’t, just to get their money’s worth before their tickets expire into oblivion!
