At the same time, many are worried about Salman and Sajid Nadiadwala choosing AR Murugadoss as the director of the project, owing to his own recent streak of flops.

AR Murugadoss, who started his brilliant career with ‘Dheena’ featuring Ajith Kumar, delivered several other hits like ‘Ghajini’ with Suriya and ‘Thuppakki’ with Thalapathy Vijay, both of which were remade in Hindi, becoming successes of their own.

But that’s where things started to go sideways for him. Several of his next projects, like ‘Akira’ with Sonakshi Sinha and ‘Spyder’ with Mahesh Babu delivered poor results.

Although ‘Sarkar’ with Thalapathy Vijay was a commercial success, it failed to meet the public’s level of expectations.

‘Darbar’, his film with Rajinikanth proved to be the final nail in the coffin, turning out to be a complete BO disaster and a hard chapter for exhibitors and distributors alike.

So it is only natural that many Salman Khan fans are anxious about him being the project director.

Vishek Chauhan, the owner of Roopbani Theatres in Purnia, Bihar has clarified doubts regarding the same on his YouTube channel.

He defended AR Murugadoss, calling him a ‘natural talent’, owing to his ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Thuppakki’ being massive commercial successes.

Vishek argued that Murugadoss probably strayed from his path due to his consecutive streak of hits. Taking on too much work and partnering with new assistants led to his failure to live up to the high expectations set for him.

Vishek concluded, saying that Murugadoss has had time to contemplate and make things right after Darbar (2020), which the audience will get to see in both ‘Sikandar’ as well as his upcoming film with Sivakarthikeyan.

The verdict can only be announced after Sikandar makes its grand release on the occasion of Eid 2025.
