Matchmaker Sima Taparia became a household name after Netflix’s Indian Matchmaking. However, her recent interview with actress Nausheen Ali Sardar has stirred discussions on social media.
At 43, Nausheen remains unmarried. In 2019, she was linked to businessman Alexander Nathan but clarified they are only good friends.
In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, the Kusum actress revealed that she had once approached Sima to find her a life partner. However, she received a hurtful response that it could not be done because she is Muslim.
Nausheen said her sister suggested contacting Sima during the pandemic when the show was trending. Her sister shared Nausheen’s preferences for someone who is Catholic, Sikh, or Punjabi.
But according to Nausheen, the matchmaker allegedly replied, “No, we can’t find you someone because you’re Muslim.” This left the actress confused and upset.
She explained that while she was born into a Muslim family, she does not follow the religion. She questioned whether this makes her ineligible to marry someone from a different faith.
“What exactly is the right match for me then?” Nausheen asked.
The actress rose to fame with her lead role in Kusum and later appeared in popular shows like Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka and others.
