BookMyShow is the largest movie and event ticketing platform in India. It has been ruling the ticketing industry for many years. Meanwhile, its CEO has now landed into legal trouble due to the ticketing issue of a concert.
Getting into details, the CEO of Big Tree Entertainment (BookMyShow’s parent company), Ashish Hemrajani was summoned by the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) due to the allegations of black market sales of the upcoming Coldplay event’s tickets.
Along with Ashish, the company’s technical head has also been summoned by the police. Both of them were asked to appear before the concerned police officials today to give their statements.
Recently, Advocate Amit Vyas filed a complaint alleging that BookMyShow sold tickets for the Coldplay concert on the black market. It was stated that a ticket with Rs. 2500 is being sold for a massive price of up to Rs. 3 lakh through third-party individuals and influencers. He requested the police to file fraud charges against BookMyShow
The EOW officials recorded Amit’s statement and started their investigation. As a part of it, BookMyShow’s CEO and Technical Head were summoned.
British Musical Band Cold Play is set to perform from January 19- January 21, 2025, at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Online ticket sales began a few days ago, resulting in the longest waiting list ever recorded for any movie or event on BookMyShow India.
