Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues to dominate headlines with its strong box office performance. The film has crossed Rs.800 crore net in India within just two weeks of its release.
The collections saw a drop on Wednesday, with the film earning around Rs.17 crore. This decline was expected after an exceptional run during the initial days.
The film has sold nearly 3.2 crore tickets in 14 days, including paid previews. Such a pace is difficult to maintain over a longer period. The dubbed versions have contributed Rs.42 crore net so far.
Trade experts are now closely tracking the film’s lifetime performance. The big question is whether it can reach the Rs.1000 crore net mark at the Indian box office.
At this stage, adding another Rs.200 crore after the second week looks challenging. The film opened strongly, but sustaining that momentum will be key to reaching the milestone.
There is still some hope for a steady third phase. If the film holds well on weekdays and shows growth over weekends, it may still move closer to the Rs.1000 crore mark.
This will largely depend on repeat audiences and the lack of major competition. A strong hold in key circuits could support its long run.
Bhooth Bangla has been postponed by a week, which may help the film. Meanwhile, Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit is set to release on April 10, though it may not pose a major threat.
Several factors are still in play. It will be interesting to see how Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge performs by the end of its theatrical run.
