Dil Raju is back in the spotlight. He, along with Anil Ravipudi and his team, sat down with the media and tried to address many things openly—whether it was fake collection posters, his understanding of the audience pulse, or what’s working these days.

However, a few of his statements have gone viral on social media. Many are not convinced by or buying into his reasoning.

Firstly, going by the majority opinion Dil Raju seems to have completely misunderstood the success of Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which became a true commercial blockbuster.

He stated that his SVC banner initially focused on investing in strong stories but later got caught up in combinations and big budgets.

However, after the recent Sankranthiki Vasthunam success, he realized that good stories should be the priority. He called 2025 an eye-opener and said he would continue with this approach.

Surprisingly, despite being a veteran producer with extensive experience, he appears to have misinterpreted the success of his own Sankranti blockbuster.

If we break down his statements, the first issue is his claim that combinations don’t work. If that were true, how does he explain the repeated success of the Venkatesh-Anil Ravipudi combo, which has consistently delivered results?

Anil Ravipudi’s strength in comedy, paired with Venkatesh’s presence, is a proven formula.

If Dil Raju is only considering the failure of the Ram Charan-Shankar combination and using that as a reason, then he is overlooking the undeniable success of the Venkatesh-Anil Ravipudi duo is of course a ‘combination’ that worked.

The second and more problematic statement he made is about the importance of strong stories.

If he believes Sankranthiki Vasthunam succeeded purely because of its good content, he is completely misreading the film’s outcome.

The movie worked due to multiple factors—it was a festive entertainer, benefited from a successful combination, and faced weak competition. The other two Sankranti releases failed to provide any real challenge, which played in its favor.

If Dil Raju assumes that Sankranthiki Vasthunam succeeded only because of its story, there is a risk that he will continue investing in similar stories, expecting the same results.

However, Sankranti comes only once a year, and the Anil Ravipudi-Venkatesh combination won’t always be available to back him.

If he continues misinterpreting the success of his own film, he could mislead himself into making misguided investments.




Ultimately, this highlights a recurring problem in the industry—when a film succeeds or fails, most production houses and producers fail to accurately analyze the reasons behind its outcome. This remains one of the biggest challenges in the industry.
