Srinu Vaitla is getting ready for another comeback attempt with George Krish, starring Sharwanand in the lead. The film has become an important project for both the director and the actor.
According to the industry buzz, veteran actress Raveena Tandon has been approached to play a police officer in the film. Her presence could add more star value to the supporting cast after KGF and Vishwanath & Sons. The film also has Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, according to current reports. Sharwanand is said to be sporting a completely new look for the project.
The first schedule is expected to begin in the second week of next month. The team is reportedly preparing a huge set for the action sequences that will be shot first. The second schedule is expected to focus on the romantic portions involving Sharwanand and Bhagyashri Borse.
The makers are also reportedly looking at a Sankranthi 2027 release.
Srinu Vaitla was once one of Telugu cinema’s most successful commercial directors, delivering hits such as Dhee, Ready, King, Dookudu and Baadshah. However, his films struggled to repeat that success over the last decade.
His last film Viswam, starring Gopichand, also did not give him the comeback he was hoping for. Now, George Krish is another opportunity for Vaitla to prove that he can still connect with today’s audience.
Telugu cinema has changed significantly since Srinu Vaitla’s peak. The comedy and screenplay formula that worked brilliantly during his successful phase may not be enough today. If he can retain his strengths while adapting to current audience tastes, George Krish could finally give him the comeback he has been waiting for.
Sharwanand is also looking for another strong success. He delivered a big hit with Nari Nari Naduma Murari this year, while his next film Biker failed at the box office. However, the failure did not become a major setback for him.
A big success with George Krish would allow Sharwanand to maintain his momentum and give Srinu Vaitla the comeback he desperately needs.
