Ram Gopal Varma said that he didn’t watch ‘NTR Kathanayakudu’, the first part of the biopic that was made on the life of legendary NTR. But, he opined, “I do not honestly feel that Balakrishna would suit the role. He might be a great star in his own capacity.” Do you also agree with him?
RGV might be partially right as Balayya wasn’t suited for the young NTR’s role in the first half. However, Balakrishna breathed life into the second half of the movie where he played the older version of the legendary personality. When RGV didn’t watch the film, maybe, he can’t express a genuine opinion about Balakrishna. But, his choice for the real-life characters for ‘Lakshmi’s NTR‘ seemed to be apt and let’s wait and see if they behaved the characters they played.
Amidst all this, there is a valid point when he said playing a real-life character isn’t only about physical resemblances but there is a lot more to do with it. “Similarity in the looks is not the point,” observes RGV who agrees that Balakrishna has resemblances with his father, obviously because he is the son.
