IRCTC has become the biggest E-Commerce website in India. Don’t be surprised; what you heard is the right thing. The revenue filings of the e-commerce players with the Registrar of Companies showed these results.

IRCTC had around 21 lakh daily hits and 3,000 enquiries a second at peak hours. It also accounted the 55% of total tickets sold by Railway Department. For FY2014-15, IRCTC clocked around Rs 20,620 revenue through ticket selling which is the double the revenue of the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart revenue which stood at Rs. 9,351.7 crore. Around 2.5 lakh users are approaching IRCTC through mobile app thus making it as the biggest E-Commerce player in country.
IRCTC revamped its technological partner by adding five new server enables the users to get rid of hanging problems. The IRCTC is planning to operate in regional languages in future.
