Generally, in Indian cinema, when a director or an actor delivers a blockbuster film, they’re bound to be flooded with opportunities. But now we have the case of a couple of Indian directors who appear to be going in the exact opposite direction.
The discussion now is about Sukumar and Aditya Dhar who happened to deliver two iconic films like Pushpa 2 and Dhurandhar which set the box office on fire.
Both these films turned out to be humongous blockbusters, and they were able to greatly engage fans and the common audience alike. But both these directors have decided to silently sidestep for the time being.
Sukumar is yet to announce a new project, despite the fact that it has been nearly a year and half since the release of Pushpa 2. This is an agonisingly long waiting period for a director of his capability and market reach.
On the other hand, we have Aditya, who has also delivered one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Indian cinema with Dhurandhar. He has also been very silent with regard to his upcoming project in the recent past.
It is true that directors of this quality and precision take a bit longer than usual to materialize their films. But they have been spending months together to formulate their immediate next projects after delivering iconic winners and that’s an interesting observation altogether.
