Pallichattambi Reviews: Weak Content, Peak Tweets

Tovino Thomas Pallichattambi

Tovino Thomas is a popular actor in Malayalam, and during the COVID period, many Telugu audiences also discovered his films through OTT platforms with subtitles. Naturally, like many South actors, the pan India bug seems to have bitten him as well.

His latest film Pallichattambi has also been released in Telugu, but interestingly, the makers did not even change the title to suit Telugu audiences.

But when it comes to actual response, things are not looking very positive. The general response is that the film feels dull and stretched. The first half is called yawn-inducing and boring, while the second half is only slightly better but still not engaging. The story is being described as routine, and the execution has not impressed. Some are also pointing out weak direction and average production quality.

Tovino Thomas’s performance is getting a mixed response. Some feel he did a decent job, but others say the character itself is not strong enough to stand out. A cameo in the film also fails to make any real impact. Music director Jakes Bejoy is one of the few positives, with his background score getting some appreciation.

At the same time, social media is showing a completely different picture. There are several posts from Telugu accounts praising the film, calling it a “must watch” and appreciating Tovino’s dedication and effort. Some reviews are even giving it ratings like 3.5 stars out of 5.

This has led to suspicion among audiences. Many feel that these positive posts look like paid promotions or bot driven tweets rather than genuine opinions. Today’s audience is quite sharp, and they can often tell the difference between real feedback and promotional hype.

Trying to build a market in Telugu is a good move for Tovino Thomas, but relying on manufactured buzz may not help in the long run. If the content does not connect, no amount of social media promotion can sustain a film.

Another important point is that the film is not getting a strong response even in Malayalam. So, expecting it to perform well in Telugu markets might be unrealistic.

Pallichattambi seems to be a weak film that is being pushed with paid online promotions. Ultimately, the audience’s word of mouth will decide its fate. Let’s hope Tovino Thomas delivers a better film that can genuinely connect with Telugu audiences, rather than pushing a below average film onto them.
