Following the blockbuster success of Karuppu, Suriya is now all set to return with his next film, Vishwanath & Sons directed by Venky Atluri, which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14th.
In this scenario, the Kollywood film titled Hi, starring Kavin and Nayanthara in the lead roles, which is also based on an age-difference relationship similar to Vishwanath & Sons is gearing up for a theatrical release on the same date.
The makers of Hi recently confirmed the release date of the film as August 14th by releasing a special poster and the second single of the film, titled Rasagulla, was also released recently.
Consequently, Hi and Vishwanath & Sons are now all set for a neck-and-neck clash in theatres on August 14th. Even though Suriya will have a solid edge in the clash by holding the maximum number of screens, Hi is also a potential opponent to dent the collections of Vishwanath & Sons, since it has Nayanthara as the female lead.
In response to this clash, many people on social media are commenting that this showdown will only be a problem for Vishwanath & Sons. They suggest that if Hi receives a positive response, it would affect Vishwanath & Sons, noting that Hi is just a medium-budget film, whereas Vishwanath & Sons is a biggie.
Meanwhile, following the release of the second single, many people are sharing their reviews that although the song wasn’t up to expectations, the clips and visuals make it evident that Hi is a fun-filled entertainer. Hence, they believe this film would be a comeback film for Nayanthara and Kavin.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen which romance film whether Hi or Vishwanath & Sons will satisfy the expectations of the audience and emerge as the clash winner upon their release on August 14th.
