Toxic: After Om Raut & Maruthi, Is Geetu Mohandas Next?

Geetu Mohandas Yash Toxic speech

Director Geetu Mohandas’ emotional speech at the Toxic trailer launch has now become a talking point among Yash fans and movie buffs. She became emotional while speaking about her mother and her experience of working with Yash.

Calling Yash not just a brilliant actor and co-writer but an emotion, Geetu said that a part of him would remain with her through everything she creates in the future. Her emotional words and teary eyes made the moment even more intense.

Normally, such a speech would be seen as nothing more than genuine appreciation. But interestingly, some movie buffs are now looking at it differently because of what happened with a couple of recent pan-India biggies.

A few years ago, director Om Raut delivered an emotional speech around Prabhas’ Adipurush. The film became one of the most brutally trolled Indian films ever. The film turned into national-level meme material. Even to this day, the makers keep apologizing for ruining India’s most beloved epic, Ramayana.

Then came The Raja Saab.

Director Maruthi broke down on stage during the pre-release event and spoke emotionally about Prabhas and the making of the film. The result? Another disaster. The Raja Saab went on to become one of the biggest embarrassments of Prabhas’ career and was widely regarded as one of his worst disasters.

And now, Geetu Mohandas is getting emotional before Toxic. That has obviously triggered the internet’s dark sense of humor.

Om Raut cried. Disaster.
Maruthi cried. Disaster.
Now Geetu Mohandas is crying. Should Toxic fans be worried?

Whenever a director gets extremely emotional on stage and speaks about how deeply connected they are to a star or film, some fans jokingly start wondering whether the film is heading for trouble.

Geetu’s teary-eyed speech has therefore triggered the so-called director tears sentiment. Fans are naturally wondering whether Toxic will meet the same fate as Adipurush and The Raja Saab.

Now, the real answer will come only after Toxic reaches theatres.
