According to the latest reports, Mega hero Varun Tej has given his nod for playing a negative role in director Harish Shankar’s next movie, a remake of Tamil movie ‘Jigarthanda’. Negative role in the movie means the role essayed by Bobby Simha in the original that earned the actor great critical acclaim. Here, accepting to play a negative role is not an experiment for Varun Tej, but taking the risk with director Harish Shankar is.

Harish Shankar delivered only one genuine blockbuster and that is ‘Gabbar Singh’ and after that he banked only on that blockbuster throughout his career without even one movie worthy to be called a super hit. It’s talking that makes the noise for his films instead of the content and that has been the problem with him. After ‘Duvvada Jagannadham’, the director pinned high hpes that Dil Raju will produce his next movie. But, Dil Raju had given him enough opportunities already and looks like, this time Dil Raju let him go.
The director is struggling to come back and Varun Tej coming on board is a huge plus. The mega hero is trying different films and a negative role in ‘Jigarthanda’ remake is just in the buzz, as of now. Varun Tej is certainly taking two risks.
