In previous elections, cameras were only set up at a few problematic polling centers. Now, 60-70% of all polling stations have cameras installed to ensure fair and transparent elections. Additionally, cameras have been installed at polling stations to prevent any unfortunate incidents.
The installation of cameras at all polling stations is expected to be completed by May 8.
A technical team will be stationed at the control room to promptly address any issues with webcasting during the polling process.
Two days before the polling day, on May 11 and 12, a dry run will be conducted to ensure a smooth polling process.
Webcasting cameras will be operational from 5 am until the completion of polling and sealing of EVMs. On polling day, various officials, including observers, district election officers, and representatives from the central election commission, will monitor the polling process through webcasting.
Andhra Pradesh has a total of 4.14 crore voters, with an increase of 5.94 lakh voters according to the Election Commission. There are also 65,707 service voters. The state will have 46,389 polling stations, each serving up to 1,500 voters, along with 224 auxiliary polling stations.
Webcasting will be set up at 12,438 polling stations, with 100% coverage in 14 assembly constituencies.
Election Officers have instructed officials to ensure that all polling centers have necessary facilities, including chairs, tables, electricity, drinking water, ramps, and toilets.
Tents should be provided to shield people from the sun’s heat, and arrangements should be made for the accommodation and meals of polling staff.
Special attention will be given to problematic polling stations to ensure a trouble-free polling process without any external interference.
