Chandrababu Naidu paved the way for the grand victory of Pawan Kalyan in Pitapuram by pacifying TDP incharge SVSN Varma there.
Varma revolted against the party as his followers vandalized the party office in Pitapuram and even badmouthed Chandrababu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan.
Chandrababu summoned Varma to Undavalli and spoke to him.
TDP has got 79K votes here in 2019 while the Janasena candidate only got 28K. It is reasonable for TDP to expect this seat but he sacrificed it for Pawan Kalyan.
As soon as Varma revolted, a section of Janasena supporters attacked Chandrababu saying that the latter could not even clear the issues even in Pawan Kalyan’s seat.
“Chandrababu will definitely know from where Pawan Kalyan is contesting. Even then he did not take care of Varma earlier,” they ranted.
But then, Pawan Kalyan always wanted to contest from Bhimavaram and so, Chandrababu cleared the way there.
Pitapuram came as a surprise.
Varma is someone who can not be taken lightly. He won as an independent in 2014 after TDP denied him ticket.
Even after Varma’s revolt, Chandrababu moved proactively. He offered an MLC seat to Varma in the first trench itself. Also, Varma has a chance to get a cabinet berth in the Kshatriya quota. All this pacified him.
In a way, Chandrababu gave an easy seat and also an MLC seat just to help Pawan Kalyan win. If Varma gets a cabinet berth, it will be sensational for sure.
This is a big promise to make because there will be other aspirants for Chandrababu. Naidu need not do that for the victory of another party’s leader. But he went that extra mile.
YSR Congress’s candidate Vanga Geetha is also a Kapu. The ruling party is trying to attract Varma into the party. Also, they are planning to play a game against Pawan Kalyan using local Vs non-local and availability factors.
But with Chandrababu’s proactive role, Pawan Kalyan’s victory in Pitapuram has become easy. There are 91,000 Kapu voting in the constituency and also, with Varma’s support, Pawan Kalyan is inching towards the huge majority.
TDP leadership also spoke to its leaders in Tenali, Nidadavole, Vishaka South, Unguturu, and Avanigadda to help Janasena win.
In fact, Janasena is yet to act on its rebels like Vidivada in Tanuku and Patamsetti in Jaggampeta.
With Chandrababu’s concern towards Pawan Kalyan and Janasena, it looks like Pawan Kalyan’s statement of the alliance sustaining for more than a decade may even come true.
