The Election Commission (EC) has been inundated with complaints regarding irregularities by the ruling party YSRCP.
Despite assurances from some collectors and SPs that everything is in order, the EC suspects discrepancies in their reports. Reliable information suggests that several collectors and SPs are under scrutiny for their actions.
It is alleged that Chief Minister Jagan has predetermined the appointments of officials in districts, favoring those loyal to him.
These officials are accused of biased actions in favor of the ruling party, prompting complaints from various quarters, including opposition parties, media, and even the EC’s own channels.
Some collectors have been questioned by the EC as their reports do not align with the received information, leading to suspicions about their impartiality.
High-level sources indicate that inquiries are underway regarding the background, performance, and basis of appointment of these officials.
Additionally, criticism has been directed at certain SPs for their perceived unilateral actions, despite their role in maintaining law and order.
Complaints have also been lodged against two state-level officials, prompting the EC to initiate internal investigations.
While the EC is currently focused on the nomination process in other states, it is expected to turn its attention to Andhra Pradesh after a week.
Officials suspected of supporting the Jagan government may face scrutiny and possible disciplinary action in the coming days.
