The Andhra Pradesh legislative council witnessed a fierce face-off between Minster Lokesh and YSRCP councilor Botsa Satyanarayana.
Botsa raked the issue of resignations of VCs and that got Lokesh enraged. He demanded that the opposition show proofs instead of making false allegations.
The war of words was such that Lokesh moved privilege motion. Lokesh showed the resignation letters of vice chancellors in the House. He questioned where was any talk of threat in them challenged Lokesh.
He went on to say that 12 VCs submitted their resignations voluntarily. Lokesh also pointed out that the Governor approved the 12 resignations.
But Botsa was adamant and demanded to put an enquiry into the resignations by earlier VCs. Lokesh not to be bogged down said that earlier records be taken out and added that YCP members made similar allegations in the past too.
Lokesh asked that the privilege motion be sent to privilege committee. The Minister said that he showed proofs that they did not threaten the VCs, which is why he moved the privilege motion.
He challenged Botsa and YCP members to show if the English word ‘threat’ was used in any of the resignation letters. Are Raja Reddy’s sister and YSRCP member Prasad Reddy vice chancellors questioned Lokesh. He once again pressed for proofs and said Botsa was trying to create ruckus. This led to severe arguments between both parties.
As the situation was out of control, chairman adjourned the House. After the break, YSRCP continued its demand and the members came to the well of the House and demanded reply from the Minister. Meanwhile, Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy omplained that the YCP members were wasting time of the House.
As the ruckus by YCP members continued, the chairman postponed the House to tomorrow.
