YS Jagan Mohan Reddy appeared before the CBI special court in the disproportionate assets cases. He faced questioning before the judge and completed the process without delay. His court appearance drew immediate political attention across Hyderabad.
He arrived at Begumpet Airport from Vijayawada and then reached the Nampally Court. Jagan spent nearly 30 minutes inside before leaving for Lotus Pond. His movement through the city triggered heavy crowds along the route.
Jagan has been on bail since September 2013. When he asked for exemption from personal appearance, the CBI strongly opposed it. They stated that he had not appeared in person for six years while the discharge petitions were being heard daily.
The court ordered him to appear in person by the 21st of this month. He arrived a day earlier to follow the order. His appearance created a massive rush of people from Begumpet to Nampally and later to Lotus Pond.
At one stage, Police struggled to control the crowds. People entered Begumpet Airport despite resistance, and similar scenes unfolded near the Nampally CBI Court. Supporters shouted slogans like “CM Jagan” and “2029 lo Rappa Rappa.”
Why did such heavy crowds gather in Hyderabad? Sources close to M9 News say YSR Congress planned large-scale mobilisation. The intention was to create a strong show of strength around Jagan’s visit, and the execution was handled with full focus.
From the beginning, Jagan has been seeking exemption from personal appearances, citing security issues and pressure on the Police Department and State Exchequer. He claimed that large crowds follow him every time he visits the court.
If the court presses for personal appearance again, Jagan wants today’s scenes to act as an example. YSR Congress treated the mobilisation seriously. Leaders like Perni Nani stayed in Hyderabad for the last few days and monitored the process themselves.
