Between 2014 and 2019, Nara Lokesh has been subjected to the biggest negative propaganda in Indian Politics. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and I-PAC weaved a campaign to showcase Lokesh in poor light and tried to brand him as ‘Pappu’.
Despite some stunning achievements as a Minister during that period, He ignored countering the campaign and paid the price for it by losing his maiden election in 2019.
Lokesh transformed himself after the defeat. He shed lots of weight and got a grip on the party affairs and all issues pertaining to Public welfare.
When the morale of the TDP cadre was down, he took a historic Padayatra of 3,132 Kilometers. If not for Chandrababu’s arrest, he would have set a new record of walking 4,000 Kilometers, the highest among any Telugu Politician.
He went closer to the people and understood their aspirations and problems.
Lokesh who studied abroad initially struggled with his speeches but after the transformation, he is one of the best speakers in the state today. He has the aggression as well as the subject that is needed to become a good leader.
Mangalagiri is one constituency TDP did not win after 1989. He did not shy away from contesting a difficult seat. And he did not leave the seat even after the 2019 election defeat.
In 2024, he has the highest majority (91,413 votes majority) among all the celebrities.
Lokesh used to carry a Red Book his Padayatra and during the Campaign and would announce writing names of people who troubled the TDP cadre and the General Public. He announced teaching such people a lesson after coming to power.
After the massive victory of TDP and its allies, Red Book became a buzzword in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
While the TDP cadre is upset that Lokesh is yet to start implementing the Red Book, Jagan Mohan Reddy is helping Lokesh big time.
Jagan is doing a Japam for ‘Lokesh’s Red Book’ whenever possible.
In every pressmeet of Jagan after the loss, there is repeated mention of the Red Book.
In his recent Delhi tour, Jagan gave a series of interviews to the National Media and is talking so much about the Red Book.
He is also saying the same to the leaders of other parties who attended the Delhi Protests.
Today, he called for a Pressmeet to counter the Chandrababu Naidu Government’s White Papers and there is a slide about the Red Book and a big speech followed.
It looks like Jagan has become a big fan of Lokesh these days and is trying his best to erase the ‘Pappu’ image that he himself gave to Lokesh.
Meanwhile, Lokesh is silently working on his Ministries to make an impact on the lives of the people. We have seen him helping the Telugu people whenever a problem comes to his notice on X. And then, there is his Praja Darbar which is a massive hit with the people.
To compliment Lokesh’s attempts, Jagan is also playing his part.
