Location Locked for Amaravati Airport?

The Andhra Pradesh government is said to be considering developing Amaravati airport at Pedaparimi. It is known that the government has plans to develop an international airport in 5000 acres.

As Pedaparimi near Tulluru has no hills or waterways, the government is said to be considering the area. Once the technical feasibility report comes in, the government will take a final decision. The CRDA had inhibitions against a report given by a company in the past. Now, the task has been given to a different company.

The government is considering developing a smart city and smart industries in the area. It will require 10,000 acres in total. There will be clarity on the matter soon.

As per CRDA zonal development plan, Pedaparimi which is 30 km away from Undavalli, is being considered as a viable option. Meanwhile, the government is planning to expand Amaravati and the CRDA will take up second phase of land acquisition for the same.

The AP Airports Development Corporation (APADC) has called request for proposal in the past. However, as CRDA had expressed some doubts regarding the Consultancy, the task has been assigned to a different company with experience in the domain.




However, the airport will be developed between Amaravati and Guntur. A decision will be taken soon.
