The MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh have come as a tough pill to swallow for the BJP high command. The party lost deposits in each and every segment, which rounds off a humiliating defeat for the saffron party in the MLC elections that are seen as an indication for the voting trend in coming general elections.
BJP was nowhere to be seen in Rayalaseema and Uttharandhra MLC segments which is now leaving the party troops worried about their prospects in next election.
BJP ended up losing the sitting MLC seat of PNV Madhav who won as a graduates MLC back in 2017. He couldn’t even win deposits in this year’s election. Not just that, the party polled lesser votes than invalid votes in the election, which sumps up their plight.
In wake of these horrendous results, it is understood that the BJP top brass is furious with AP leadership. Naturally, the blame will fall on AP BJP chief, Somu Veerraju.
Incidentally, Somu is facing the heat for BJP’s flop show in AP MLC elections. Interestingly, his defense mechanism is disabling comments section on his Twitter handle. He appears to have turned off comments to avert backlash from netizens for BJP’s foregattable performance in the MLC election.
