Maganti Sunitha, wife of the late Maganti Gopinath, revealed heartfelt memories about her husband and his deep connection with legendary actor and politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) during an interview with a television channel.
She shared that while Gopinath was an admirer of hero Krishna, he always held immense respect for NTR. According to Sunitha, NTR treated her husband like a son and affectionately called him “Gopi.”
Sunitha recalled that Gopinath would organise “bullet rallies” for NTR wherever he went. She described how her husband would load his bullet motorcycle onto a train, fly to Chennai, and lead grand rallies there in NTR’s honour.
She further said that the late Karunanidhi was so impressed by these rallies that he once invited Gopinath to join him, even offering a large sum of money. Gopinath declined, explaining that his rallies were driven purely by admiration for Sr NTR, not ambition.
Sunitha also mentioned that her husband respected BRS leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) deeply. “When I saw KCR shedding tears after my husband passed away, I realised how strong their bond truly was,” she shared during the interview.
