He did a significant job in putting Andhra Pradesh on the Global Investments Map. He brought renowned IT and electronics companies like HCL, Foxconn, Zoho and Celkon to establish their units in the state. These are among the big-ticket investments to Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation.
But then, Lokesh fell to the vicious propaganda of YSR Congress and I-PAC. He was branded as a Pappu. He was the most targeted leaders across the country on Social Media and WhatsApp and that led to his electoral loss in 2019.
Lokesh also had to blame himself partly for not being vocal about the work he did.
After the defeat, he lost weight during COVID-19 and improved his vocal skills to connect with the masses. Today he is one of the best orators in the state. He also gained in-depth knowledge about people’s problems and his marathon 3,132 Kilometers of Padayatra.
His Padayatra was one of the longest in Telugu History and played an instrumental role in TDP’s victory in recent elections.
People were able to see through the propaganda now.
Lokesh has a big task now in rebuilding the reputation of Andhra Pradesh in Investors’ Point of View.
All eyes are on him to bring some big-ticket investments and generate employment.
The youth of Andhra Pradesh were made redundant in the last five years. Except for the Volunteer jobs, there was nothing in Andhra Pradesh. Brand Andhra Pradesh was killed in the name of Revisiting PPAs and Reverse Tendering. Big names like Franklin Templeton, Lulu, Amara Raja, etc were ill-treated by the Previous Government.
Lokesh takes charge with aspirations of Crores of Youth on him.
We at M9 News wish him all the best and also hope this time, the people will see his real potential.
