It is easy for VIPs to choose an easy seat for them and make it their stronghold. Nara Lokesh, however, broke the tradition in 2019 and contested from Mangalagiri, a difficult seat for the Telugu Desam Party.
The TDP has not won this seat since 1985. Lokesh lost the election with around 5,000 votes.
It was his maiden election and the pressure was on him to choose an easy seat for 2024.
However, he persisted there. He laid roads and executed some welfare schemes with his own money in those five years.
The people gave a superb mandate in the recent elections. Lokesh won with a whopping 91,413 votes majority. It is the highest among all the constituencies of the VIPs across the state including Jagan, Chandrababu, and Pawan Kalyan.
Lokesh is not taking Mangalagiri easy after the elections.
Nara Lokesh started a Praja Darbar daily morning at his residence. People from Mangalagiri are meeting him and are bringing their problems to his notice.
He is doing that every single day except for the days on which he had to attend the Assembly.
Lokesh’s day begins with Praja Darbar and then, he is on to the remaining official works.
The number of people visiting is swelling day by day.
Also, he is taking steps to solve their problems immediately.
We often see celebrities not finding time for their constituencies but Lokesh is proving to be different.
It looks like he is determined to make Mangalagiri like how Kuppam is for his father.
By looking at how he is doing that every single day and immediately after the results, people are saying ‘Mamulu Kasi Kaadhu’
