There is a possibility of the TDP coalition securing a majority of the seven assembly seats in the eastern part of the combined Prakasam district. TDP has formed a coalition with JanaSena and BJP.

In six seats, the party has nominated local candidates, while YSRCP has fielded non-local candidates, leading to internal group conflicts within the ruling party.

The TDP alliance is confident of winning five seats outright and anticipates tough competition in the remaining two seats.

Assessing the overall situation, Chirala and Kandukur witnessed closely contested battles, while the remaining five seats are perceived as favorable for the TDP alliance.

The competition in Chirala and Kandukur constituencies was intense, resembling a three-way struggle. YSRCP candidate Venkatesh, TDP candidate Kondaiah Yadav, and the Congress candidate were key contenders.

Despite low chances of victory for all three parties, analysts believe that the three-way contest will not hinder the TDP’s prospects.

An attack on TDP candidate Kondaiah Yadav in a Yadav-dominated village garnered him support among weaker sections. Despite clashes involving YSRCP cadre towards the end of polling, TDP managed to secure remaining votes.

The Arya Vaishya community leaned towards TDP more than anticipated.

While TDP and Congress are primary contenders in Vetapalem mandal, the competition expanded to three parties in Chirala municipality. Villages with Yadava community showed strong support for TDP.

In Kandukur, a tight contest ensues between YSRCP and TDP.

However, YSRCP candidate Madhusudan’s non-local status and the absence of influential MLA Mahidhar Reddy are perceived disadvantages for YSRCP.

Arya Vaishya voters favored TDP in Kandukuru town, while the Kapu community’s votes through Janasena benefited TDP.

There are reports suggesting TDP MP candidate Vemireddy has influenced YSRCP votes among the Reddy community, boosting TDP’s prospects.
