It is not surprising when an MLA visits their own constituency. However, what is noteworthy in this situation is that after four years, the MLA toured the constituency for three consecutive days.
The issue at hand is that YS Jagan, the Chief Minister, has been staying in Pulivendula for the past three days. Following a meeting in Ananthapur, YS Jagan directly went to Pulivendula.
Even during this tour, Jagan remained distant from the general public. He met with several YSRCP party leaders at the Mandal level to understand their concerns. He also inquired about how the TDP managed to secure a majority in the Graduate elections in the Pulivendula segment.
Additionally, Jagan met with the counselors of the Pulivendula Municipality, which is an unusual move for him. While he has instructed his MLAs to conduct the Gadapa Gadapa program, Jagan himself did not participate.
Reportedly, the reason for Jagan’s sudden visit to Pulivendula is related to an I-PAC survey. During a meeting with the I-PAC team last week, it was revealed that the team had cautioned Jagan about the Pulivendula issue indirectly.
They hinted that the majority in Pulivendula might decrease in the 2024 elections. This has made Jagan alert and focused on Pulivendula. It is possible that Jagan is aware of the decline in support for his uncle in Pulivendula.
YS Vivekananda Reddy was actively addressing the concerns of the people in Pulivendula, even when the late YSR was the MLA representing the constituency. Viveka had a strong connection with the common people in the area.
After the 2019 elections, Bhaskar Reddy stepped into Viveka’s role in Pulivendula. However, now Bhaskar Reddy is also inaccessible to the people in Pulivendula. All these events have made Jagan cautious and prompted his visit to Pulivendula.
