Political Propaganda film, Yatra 2 aimed at influencing the people before 2024 elections fell flat at the box office. The movie is struggling in the first weekend itself every where from Andhra to America.
The situation is not anything different in Rayalaseema or even Jagan’s own district, Kadapa.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress is lining up two more similar propaganda films – RGV’s Vyooham and Shapatham just before the Model Code of Conduct comes to effect.
It is interesting to note that YSR Congress is always relying on such Propaganda films to influence the electorate. Between 2014 and 2019, we have seen similar films like Yatra, Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu, and Lakshmi’s NTR.
And now, there are three more films. It is not just the case with Jagan. Probably, this is in Congress’s DNA, we have seen similar films like Mandaladeesudu back then.
It is interesting to note that people always say the Kamma community dominate the Telugu Film Industry and the industry people are majorly supporters of the Telugu Desam Party. But then, neither the community nor the industry never made any such propaganda film in favor of NT Ramarao or Chandrababu Naidu.
These are all electoral gimmicks. When you properly administer a state, you do not need such gimmicks. But if you are not confident about winning, you try to resort to tampering the public opinion using such propaganda films. But tragedy is that going by the collections of Yatra 2, the attempt seems to have backfired very badly.
If this is the plight of Yatra 2, just imagine the condition of D-grade stuff RGV is going to churn out.
