It appears that many YSRCP MLAs do not trust the surveys conducted by the I-PAC organization appointed by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Instead, they are conducting their own surveys to understand the sentiments of the people.
Despite the government’s focus on welfare schemes, the MLAs are directly witnessing opposition from the public during their visits to villages under the ‘Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Govt’ program.
People are reportedly expressing their grievances about issues such as roads, drinking water, drainage problems, and overall development. The MLAs are finding it difficult to address these concerns, and some are choosing to distance themselves from the program.
However, if they do not actively participate, the I-PAC teams report to CM Jagan, and there is a warning that election tickets may be given based on these reports.
With only nine months left until the general elections, the opposition to the government appears to be strong among the people. YSRCP MLAs have conducted their own parallel surveys to understand the ground reality and determine how people perceive them and the government.
The MLAs’ surveys have indicated that despite the implementation of welfare schemes, people are frustrated with the increase in property tax, electricity charges, and bus fares.
Additionally, the lack of industries in the state has led to young people leaving for cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru in search of employment opportunities, which is causing distress among parents.
Furthermore, there have been recent incidents where tribal groups have protested and blocked the visits of some YSRCP MLAs to Scheduled Tribe (ST) seats. People are questioning whether the MLAs remember the villages and fulfill their promises after four years. It is mentioned that former Deputy Chief Minister Pushpa Srivani’s visit was also blocked under unfortunate circumstances.
