In a masterstroke to eliminate AI clutter and repurposed videos on YouTube, the platform has passed new updates to its monetisation policy. The users have a mixed response to this move but many are coming in its support.
Actually, in the past few years with the onset of AI and trend of hopping into YouTube monetisation many so called YouTubers have filled the platform with low effort content and have easily made money. This harms the users who want to experience authentic content and YouTubers who make efforts to provide quality content.
As per the new scheme, the content for channels which upload fully AI generated videos cannot be monetised. Copied content and repurposed videos will also be ineligible for monetisation.
All the low effort shorts that are uploaded will also be scrapped from the monetising category. This move is being appreciated by many users and they believe that this democratises the platform.
With this update new and original creators can hope to be paid better.
