King Virat Kohli, the name should be changed to an official one, as King Kohli has no intention of not breaking records but obliterating them. Just a few days ago, he broke the record for the most centuries in ODI cricket. Now, Kohli has created a benchmark.
During his last match, breaking the century record wasn’t the only one of Tendulkar’s records he broke, as Kohli also set a record for the most runs in one World Cup campaign. The previous record was set by Tendulkar, scoring 673 runs during the 2003 campaign.
In this campaign, Kohli has already managed to surpass the 750-run mark and scored 50+ runs on 9 occasions.
The 2019 edition of the WC was not the best one for Kohli as he managed to score 443 runs. In the one before that, he scored a century against Pakistan but gathered only 305 runs.
As of now, he stands as the most important pillar of the innings, playing the role of the stable batter. Rahul, on the other hand, is trying to build a good partnership with him. Though the run rates fell tremendously, India has some big hitters in their arsenal.
