He was the hope, he was the man, he was the pillar, but things didn’t go as planned. Aussies managed to have a good hold of the match with consecutive wickets, but Kohli’s wicket turned out to be the biggest one.
India, though losing an early wicket in the first ten overs, managed to score 80 runs with one wicket down. However, Australia turned their fate with two consecutive wickets, and the run rate slowed down significantly.
Kohli and KL managed to build a good partnership, but Australia limited them as both batters played it slow and steady. Pat Cummins was having a generally good game as he managed to grab a wicket and was fairly economical, but now, he might be the game-changer.
One short ball made Kohli uncomfortable as he tried to defend it, but the ball managed to hit the bat and then kiss the wicket. Australia managed to grab their fourth and probably the biggest wicket in the tournament.
As Kohli departed, Australia managed to silence the crowd again. India, as the favorites, continue the quest to lift the World Cup and take revenge for 2003.
