After India’s significant loss to Australia in the World Finals at Ahmedabad, a section of fans initiated a new blame game for the team’s poor performance in the crucial match.
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad transformed into a ‘sea of blue’ with thousands of fans traveling to witness the Indian team’s potential victory.
However, after Australia won the cup, a section of fans, deeply disappointed, started attributing blame to the massive crowd present in the stadium. They argue that instead of energizing and supporting the Indian team, these crowds remained silent in disappointment.
Their argument revolves around the high ticket prices set by the board, making them affordable only to a particular financial class.
According to them, genuine cricket fans, the common people who couldn’t afford these tickets, would have behaved differently, encouraging the team significantly.
They assert that the stadium should need proper cricket fans rather than an elite batch or celebrities who remained silent, and venues should be chosen wisely.
There are those who support this view and others who counter it, stating that the crowd cannot make the team win the worldcup; they merely react to the team’s performance.
