A shocking case of alleged medical fraud has emerged from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, where a man declared to be in a coma walked out of a private hospital’s ICU on his own, exposing what appears to be a blatant extortion scheme.
Banti Ninama, a resident of Deendayal Nagar, was admitted to the hospital after sustaining injuries in a fight. His family was told that he had suffered a severe spinal fracture and slipped into a coma, requiring immediate and costly treatment. In a desperate bid to save his life, his wife and mother scrambled to arrange Rs 1 lakh, borrowing from relatives and friends.

However, the truth was far more disturbing. A viral video now circulating online shows Ninama, who was supposedly unconscious, casually walking out of the hospital, showing no signs of the critical condition doctors had described.
He later revealed that he was forcibly restrained by hospital staff while his family was pressured to pay the hefty amount. Seizing an opportunity, he escaped and exposed what appears to be a hospital-run extortion racket.

His wife’s account only strengthens these allegations. “They told us he was in a coma and needed expensive treatment. We had no choice but to beg for money. And then he just walked out.”
The outrage was obvious, with many questioning the ethics of private hospitals, which increasingly seem to prioritize profit over patient care. Medical malpractice and exploitation of vulnerable patients have become disturbingly common, yet accountability remains elusive.

If such blatant fraud can occur in plain sight, how many other patients have been scammed into unnecessary treatments? This case demands immediate investigation and strict action to prevent further exploitation.
