Alok Kumar Singh was a mathematics professor from Uttar Pradesh who worked at a private college in Mumbai. People familiar with him described him as calm, polite, and soft spoken. He lived simply and travelled by local train every day like countless commuters.
One evening at Malad station, while getting down from a train, he made a small request. He asked a man standing near the door to move slightly. The request was ordinary, but the response was sudden and violent.
The man allegedly became angry without warning. In a shocking turn, he stabbed Professor Singh and fled the scene. The professor later died from his injuries, leaving commuters and residents deeply shaken by the incident.
This was not a fight or a heated argument. It was an abrupt act of extreme violence. Such rage cannot be explained by a single sentence. It reflects how quickly everyday situations can turn fatal.
The accused will be arrested and the legal process will follow. Court hearings may stretch on for years. Professor Singh was married just two years ago, and his family has suffered an irreplaceable loss that no verdict can heal.
