Virat Kohli, a man who has always been the difference maker for the team, was once criticized by the media, but now he sits at the pinnacle of certain records. In his path to reaching the top, he dethroned the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar.
It was indeed inevitable; he was destined to do this. Breaking the record of 49 ODI centuries and having one more in the semi-final of a world cup, especially against New Zealand, is no less than a fairy tale. For the content, New Zealand was the team who broke India’s dream in the last WC held in England.
For those unaware, Virat Kohli just broke the record of 50 ODI Centuries, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s 49 centuries in 463 matches. Kohli, on the other hand, achieved this feat in just a staggering 291 matches, establishing his dominance and securing his place in the record books.
After breaking the record, Kohli followed it up with a great gesture. After celebrating the century, he bowed down to the God, expressing his gratitude towards the little master who made it all possible.
Sachin Tendulkar still holds the record for the most hundreds in test cricket, putting Kohli in a club of his own.
