YouTuber Anvesh faced widespread public outrage after his remarks on mythological figures Sita and Draupadi. Many viewers unfollowed him and unsubscribed from his channel. Despite the backlash, Anvesh, who is based abroad, appeared largely unaffected.
At the same time, allegations surfaced online accusing him of sexually abusing a 14 year old in Venezuela. Several people demanded action under the POCSO Act. These claims further intensified criticism against the YouTuber on social media.
Responding to the controversy, Anvesh said he was being unfairly targeted. He stated that viewers could watch his Venezuela series videos for clarity. According to him, he had only bought food for a 14 year old girl involved in prostitution and medicines for her ailing father.
Anvesh strongly denied any abuse allegations. He said the girl was like a sister to him and called the accusations vicious and insensitive. He also criticised those spreading what he described as cheap talk online.
The YouTuber claimed that losing subscribers marked the end of his bad luck. He said he was content with still having 70 lakh followers. Anvesh maintained that he remained unaffected by the controversy and criticism.
