Bollywood composer Sachin Sanghvi, one half of the popular music duo Sachin-Jigar, known for films like Bhediya and Stree 2, has reportedly been booked following allegations of sexual harassment.
According to reports, a 29-year-old woman filed a complaint with the local police accusing Sanghvi of inappropriate behaviour and unwanted advances. Based on her statement, legal proceedings were initiated and an investigation began.
Police officials said the complainant alleged that she came into contact with Sachin Sanghvi in February 2024 after he sent her a message on Instagram. She claimed that Sanghvi promised her an opportunity in one of his upcoming music albums, after which they exchanged phone numbers.
The complaint further states that the woman was called to Sanghvi’s studio, where he allegedly proposed marriage and behaved inappropriately on multiple occasions.
Following the investigation, Sanghvi was arrested and later released on bail, police sources confirmed. The case remains under legal review, and authorities are awaiting further evidence before proceeding.
The news has sparked widespread discussion within the entertainment industry, especially in the context of the #MeToo movement in India, which has seen several high-profile allegations of misconduct in recent years.
Neither Sachin Sanghvi nor his representatives have issued an official statement so far. The ongoing investigation will determine the legal outcome, and both parties are expected to cooperate with the authorities.
Observers note that the controversy could impact the public image of the Sachin-Jigar duo, depending on the court’s findings and further developments in the case.
