Zepto Office Horror

In a deeply troubling account shared on Reddit’s r/startupindia, a young B.Tech graduate has exposed the harsh and toxic work culture at Kiranakart Technologies Pvt Ltd, better known as Zepto.

What was promised as a “Data Analyst” role turned out to be a contractual MIS Executive position with exploitative conditions and little resemblance to the job description initially shared.

The offer letter masked the nature of the job with vague language, providing no clarity on working hours, responsibilities, or reporting structures.

Once hired, the fresher was thrown into relentless 9 AM to 8 PM shifts, six to seven days a week, often without lunch breaks or holidays. Instead of engaging in any analytical work, he was made to perform menial tasks like updating sheets and forwarding WhatsApp messages.

Learning and growth were absent; survival became the only goal. What followed was psychological harassment. Managers used offensive slurs as routine communication.

One even made threatening gestures, creating an environment of fear and humiliation. The team culture was riddled with cliques and blatant discrimination.

Colleagues from the inner circle had privileges, while the outsider was constantly scrutinized and demeaned.

Worse still, as a contract worker, he had no access to HR support or any grievance mechanism. When he fell ill on his last day, HR showed no compassion and forced him to return office equipment immediately, disregarding his health.

This is not just a case of a bad job. It reflects a deeper rot in how some companies exploit freshers under the guise of opportunity. Zepto’s treatment of a desperate young graduate is not just unethical. It is shameful.
