Arshdeep Singh is once again facing heavy criticism on social media after a viral video involving young Punjab Kings teammate Priyansh Arya sparked controversy during the IPL season. The clip reportedly surfaced from inside the Punjab Kings team bus and quickly spread across social media platforms.
Priyansh Arya was seen sitting beside Harpreet Brar in the video. Although Arshdeep was not visible in the clip, many fans identified his voice in the background. His comments towards Priyansh soon became a major talking point online.
“What a cutie, man! Show me your smile. Show me your teeth,” Arshdeep was heard saying in the clip. Several fans felt Priyansh looked uncomfortable during the interaction. He mostly stayed quiet, looked away from the camera, and continued speaking on his phone.
The viral clip has now triggered another debate among cricket followers. Many fans are expressing frustration as controversies involving Arshdeep continue to emerge frequently. Some users believe repeated incidents are affecting his public image.
A few days earlier, another viral clip involving Tilak Varma had also attracted criticism. In that video, Arshdeep was heard saying “Oye andhere” towards the Mumbai Indians batter. That incident too received negative reactions on social media.
Arshdeep had also recently made headlines after replying sharply to a fan online. After a user suggested Punjab Kings should remove “Punjab” from their name, the left-arm pacer responded that he could not take advice from people who still ask their family for money to buy chips and cold drinks.
Several fans pointed out that humour and insulting behaviour are completely different. They felt senior players should be more careful while interacting with younger teammates inside a professional team environment.
The controversy comes at a difficult stage for Punjab Kings in the tournament. The team has already suffered six consecutive defeats and their playoff hopes now depend on winning their final league match against Lucknow Super Giants.
