IPL 2026 Final: No Celebration Allowed? Big Call

Bengaluru police issue RCB celebration guidelines

As RCB prepare for the IPL 2026 final, Bengaluru police have announced a set of strict guidelines to regulate celebrations across the city and ensure public safety. The measures are aimed at preventing overcrowding, traffic disruptions, and potential law and order issues.

According to the advisory, live screenings of the match should not be organised outside malls, pubs, or other venues in a manner that is visible from public roads. The move is intended to prevent large crowds from gathering on streets and creating safety concerns.

Police have also imposed restrictions on public celebrations immediately after the match result. Installing LED screens facing public roads without official permission will not be allowed under the new guidelines.

Authorities have issued a clear warning against bike rallies, stunt riding, over speeding, unnecessary honking, and road blockades during celebrations. Officials stated that such activities can put both fans and the general public at risk.

The advisory further prohibits bursting crackers in public places and consuming alcohol openly during celebrations. Any incidents involving public nuisance, fights, or inappropriate behaviour will be dealt with strictly by law enforcement agencies.

Fans have also been urged to act responsibly on social media. Police have advised people not to spread rumours, share provocative content, or target supporters of rival teams, as such actions could lead to unnecessary tensions and clashes.

The restrictions come in the wake of last year’s tragic incident during victory celebrations at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The stampede resulted in the loss of 11 lives and raised serious concerns about crowd management during large-scale celebrations.

Officials believe these precautionary measures are necessary to avoid a repeat of such incidents. The focus remains on allowing fans to celebrate responsibly while ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in the city.
