India’s X-Factor Set for AFG ODI Series Return?

Harshit Rana return update

Harshit Rana could soon return to the Indian team setup during the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan.

According to reports, Harshit Rana has been asked to link up with the squad ahead of the third ODI in Chennai. The development comes after an extended period of rehabilitation following knee surgery.

The injury ruled Harshit Rana out of international action and also forced him to miss the T20 World Cup. Since then, he has been focusing on recovery at the Centre of Excellence while working towards regaining full fitness.

Reports suggest that the Indian team management wanted the fast bowler to spend additional time in training before rejoining the squad. The focus has been on ensuring he is physically ready before returning to competitive cricket.

Harshit Rana has reportedly been bowling regularly and completing intensive training sessions as part of his recovery programme. The 24-year-old is believed to be nearing the final phase of his rehabilitation.

If he receives medical clearance, Harshit Rana could join the Indian squad before the final ODI against Afghanistan. A return would also help him prepare for India’s upcoming T20I assignments.

The fast bowler is regarded as an exciting prospect and his return would provide an additional pace option for the Indian team heading into a busy international schedule.
