The stage is being prepared for the forthcoming edition of the IPL with the final date of retentions locked at 31 October. As the deadline fast approaches, there is a lot of skepticism about whether or not Dhoni would make it into the CSK side on time.

On this matter, the CEO of the CEO franchise, Viswanathan made a very interesting comment as he kept fans guessing.
“We also want Dhoni to play in the CSK team. But Dhoni has not confirmed it to us yet. Dhoni said, ‘I will tell you before October 31.’ We hope that he will play,” Viswanathan said.

By the looks of it, Dhoni hasn’t yet confirmed if he will be playing in the coming edition of the IPL or not. The decision will be made on the 31st of October which is the final date for the retentions.
Despite retiring from International cricket some 5 years ago, Dhoni is still the biggest name in the IPL circuit and he is commanding a whole lot of attention. It is to be seen whether he will be seen in CSK colors again. The chances are that he certainly would, and whatever suspense that is created here is only for curiosity purpose.
