The most hated player of the 2024 edition of the IPL is obviously Hardik Pandya after he replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of the side. This was met with profuse abuses and trolls from Mumbai Indians fans.

In fact, Hardik was booed in Mumbai’s own stadium Wankhede whenever he used to step out as the captain. The same situation was seen in many other stadiums as well.
The love for Rohit Sharma meant that the jerky way in which Hardik was made the captain was outrightly rejected by all sections.

However, things have changed substantially for Hardik now as he is apart of the World Cup-winning side.
In fact, it was Hardik who bowled the all-important final over of the game and played a crucial role in winning the game for India. He was simply brilliant through the course of the tournament as well.

Considering the good work put up by Hardik for the Indian national side, the question now is, will the followers of Mumbai Indians accept him as their own now? Will they stop booing him in their own home ground?
