The retention period for the coming season of IPL is done and dusted. As for SRH franchise, they have kept ahold of Nitish Kumar Reddy, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Klaasen, and Abhishek Sharma.
While the core team is sorted with all departments covered, there is the need to have that one gun spinner in the side. This is where SRH is lacking in the league, it could be argued.
In the coming auction, going for Krunal Pandya, a worthy spinner who can also hold the bat is not a bad option at all. He could well provide some stability to the middle order as well.
Then comes the pace department. The SRH side needs another gun bowler to complement Pat Cummins who is captaining the side. Considering the usually high economy rate of Cummins, SRH now needs a very economical bowler who can replace Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.
Once these two departments are sorted, then the rest can easily be pasted together with whoever is available on the auction day. If SRH can add another batting alrounder to the side, then this could very well be the most balanced side of the league.
