SRH vs CSK: Black Magic in IPL? Former Star Reacts

Lalit Modi rejects IPL black magic claims

The “black magic” claims from the Indian Premier League 2026 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings have been dismissed by former IPL chairman Lalit Modi. He said the viral letter linked to CSK was fake.

The controversy began after a video from the April 19 match went viral online. Soon after, an unverified complaint letter started circulating on social media, leading to speculation among users.

Lalit Modi responded through social media and stated that the letter was not genuine. He also said similar claims had surfaced in the past and should not be taken seriously.

The match was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. CSK were chasing 195 and made a strong start, reaching 76 in the powerplay with momentum on their side.

However, Sunrisers Hyderabad fought back with disciplined bowling and picked up important wickets, including that of Shivam Dube.

During that stage of the chase, a fan in the crowd was seen performing a so-called “lemon trick.” The clip quickly spread online, and after Dube’s dismissal, social media reactions intensified.

In the final over, Sunrisers Hyderabad had 18 runs to defend. Praful Hinge bowled a no ball but recovered well to complete the over strongly. Chennai Super Kings finished at 184/8.

There is no evidence supporting the claims. With Lalit Modi calling the letter fake, the episode appears to be another viral social media moment from the match.
