The key clash between SRH and Bengaluru has drawn to a close with the latter beating Hyderabad by 35 runs. This is RCB’s first win in 7 games and it comes at a time when their trophy run is nearly done.
But this win for RCB comes at a cost and it has something to do with Virat Kohli.
Kohli scored 51 off 43 balls and this innings was calamatic to say the least. The last 25 balls Kohli faced, he scored 19.
If this is how Kohli’s approach is going to be in the World Cup, then India could be in for a tricky run. The lack of intent is the key concern here.
No one can debate the fact that Kohli is one of the all time greats in the history of the sport but given the current scoring patterns thanks to Head, Klaasen, and others, if Kohli plays such innings in a high intensity game, then India would be doomed.
The laboured pace of such innings could very well be the deal breaker for India. So in the end, despite RCB’s celebrated win, Indian cricket team fans are worried about Kohli’s run.
