Is It The Worst Ever Trade In IPL History?

Hardik Pandya future with Mumbai Indians debated

Mumbai Indians had produced some of the brightest talents in Indian cricket in the form of Jaspreet Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and several others.

However, the return of Hardik Pandya from Gujarat to his origin team Mumbai Indians was not a smooth one. He was met with insane negativity from fans as every stadium that he went to in 2024 booed him.

This was largely due to the fact that Hardik Pandya replaced people’s loved captain Rohit Sharma, and this did not sit well with the Cricket fans across the country.

Now this utterly failure experiment, which lasted three years and put Mumbai Indians in serious jeopardy has finally come to an end now. It is nearly confirmed that Hardik Pandya will be put out of the Mumbai team once the trading window opens.

It is already established that the Mumbai management has decided to remove Hardik Pandya from the captaincy position, and he will have to find a new team for himself within IPL 2027.

This will probably go down as one of the worst ever trade agreements in IPL history, if not the worst. Despite starting his career at Mumbai Indians, it needs to be said that Hardik could not find any momentum after returning.

The failed experiment is going to come to an end at the end of the season when the trade window opens as it looks like Chennai and Lucknow could be the possible new options for Hardik henceforth.
